Description

American Conquest: Fight Back is the successor to American Conquest. The game features eight campaigns set between 1517 and 1804: during the 25 missions the player tackles missions like finding El Dorado with Germany or conquering Alaska with the Russians at the expense of the Haida. There are overall five new nations and 50 new units to play with, in addition to the mentioned Portugal and the Netherlands.

The gameplay is exactly the same as in American Conquest, meaning that the player constructs a base, gathers resources and builds up his army. The fighting morale is very important and can be influenced by either victory, defeat, food supplies or the equipment your units are carrying. Ten new battlefield maps are designed to offer quick combat between two armies.

- The game runs with Verok's OpenGL wrapper v2.26 (Requires hardware support for OpenGL v1.x or 3.x not sure, if your graphics card doesn't support the v3.x it might not work, it wouldn't work either without this wrapper)

- Scenario Editor included

- Replaced binkw32.dll to prevent potential crash

- Tested OK on Windows 10 & XP

If the game is too fast or too slow, configure it through the game options by pressing F12 or from the menu

Potential resolved issues:

- 0% progress in LAN - This sometimes happens on Windows XP when with 3 or more players on LAN. Note that this is a workaround for this and not an actual fix.

1. Start your multiplayer game as usual, let all players select their nations, and then click the "Ready" button. Now choose the game settings.

2. You will see it still sits on 0% or starts going up very, very slowly, don't panic, press Alt+Tab to go to desktop, wait a second and then go back in the game and you will see it has progressed, again Alt+Tab out of the game, wait a second and go back into the game, again it will have progressed.

3. Keep doing this until it reaches 100%, then click begin game and there you have it! It can take around 4-5 minutes, sometimes you can stay on desktop for a couple of minutes and then go back into game if it hasn't progressed.
