Oddworld – Abe’s Exoddus

Description

In Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee Abe shut down RuptureFarms and saved his buddies from becoming snacks. But Rupture farms was just the beginning; the Glukkons are digging up bones at the ancient Mudokon burial grounds. They use the bones to make Soul Storm Brew. Abe must travel to the Soul Storm Brewery, stop those corporate villains and save the enslaved Mudokon workers.

Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus is a 2D platform game very similar to its predecessor both visually and gameplay-wise. Like in the previous game, Abe has to outsmart his foes and avoid obstacles rather than confront them directly. The game is larger than its predecessor and is more oriented towards puzzle-solving, featuring more complex interaction with the Mudokons, who can now be angry, wired, depressed, sick, or blind. The first three problematic conditions can be removed with the appropriate “Gamespeak” command; sick Mudokons must be cured with a special item, while blind ones will follow Abe’s voice and may fall to their deaths if Abe doesn’t stop them in time. …

Oddworld – Abe’s Oddysee

Description

Abe is a Mudokon, a member of a once prosperous race which has now been enslaved by the Glukkons, forced to work in their huge corporations. The food factories have found a new type of meat, delicious to all the inhabitants, though no one knows the recipe. Following his stomach, Abe eavesdrops on the corporate leaders’ conversation, and makes the most frightening and disgusting discovery: his own race is that secret delicious food.

Alas, Abe has been spotted, and the guards are marching towards him. He must escape, but he can’t leave his friends to the mercy of the Glukkons and their henchmen. He must rescue as many as he can, and tell the world the truth about what he has found out.

Abe’s Oddysee is the first game set in the fictional Oddworld universe. It is a platformer with puzzle-solving elements, focusing on the portrayal of a weak, underpowered character in a grim and hostile world, who has to rely on his cunning to outwit enemies and overcome hazards. Abe is almost completely helpless: he cannot use weapons and is usually instantly killed by his brutal enemies if he confronts them directly. For this reason, most of the game involves careful exploration, timed movement, sneaking, and outsmarting the foes through various means: throwing stones to confuse them, luring them into traps, etc. Abe can run, jump, climb, tiptoe, crouch, and roll; in most areas these actions are essential to his survival. A few stages involve Abe riding a large animal known as Elum. …

Spider-man

Description

Spider-Man is the first 3D game to star the popular web-slinger. It is loosely based on Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Spider-Man Unlimited and features some of the voice cast from each and similar character designs.

Peter Parker is attending a demonstration of the reformed Dr. Otto Octavius’s new invention when an imposter Spider-Man steals the device. Spider-Man must work to clear his name and uncover the sinister motives behind the device’s theft.

This game features appearances not only by most major Spider-Man characters, but cameos by numerous other characters from the Marvel Universe, such as the Human Torch, Punisher, Daredevil and Captain America.

Spider-Man’s webs are greatly emphasized. He can use them both for navigational purposes, like swinging or ziplining, and for offensive and defensive combat, such as tying up a villain, coating his fists with web for extra oomph, or building a protective shield. His web supply is limited though and he must find new cartridges or risk running out. The wall-crawling powers are also prominently features. Spider-Man can cling to any wall or ceiling. This is used for basic environmental navigation and for stealth as there are many sequences where you crawl over the heads of unsuspecting thugs, or drop down and catch them off-guard. …

Crazy Taxi 3 – High Roller

Description

Crazy Taxi 3 is a score attack game. The player controls one of several taxi drivers in a fictional city, looking for fares and then taking them to their destination in the fastest time possible. The player must perform this while time still remains on an overall gameplay clock. Passengers looking for rides are indicated by an overhead marker that is colored to represent the distance to their intended destination. The color marker ranges from red indicating short trips, to yellow for intermediate distances, and to green indicating long ones. When a passenger is picked up, the player is awarded additional time on the countdown time. Furthermore, a second countdown timer is started, representing how quickly the passenger needs to be at their destination. While a passenger is in the taxi, a large green arrow is shown on the player’s HUD that points in the general direction of the passenger’s destination to help guide the player through the map.

The player can use special “crazy stunt” moves such as drifts, jumps, and near-misses, and consecutive combos of these, to earn extra money from the passenger during the trip. If the destination is reached in time, the player is paid based on distance driven with a possible time bonus based on how quickly the destination was reached. If the passenger’s countdown strikes zero, he/she will exit the taxi without paying and the player will be required to look for another fare. The game continues in this mode as long as time remains on the main clock. Once the clock reaches zero, the game is over, and the player is ranked and rated based on the total earned. …

Deer Hunter 3

Description

Deer Hunter 3 is a hunting simulator that was released in late 1999. The player must account for things like wind and the rate at which the bullet or arrow drops. The player can go to a test firing range to adjust the scope of their firearm or bow so that it lines up properly at the distance in which the player feels comfortable with.

The game originally included three playable areas in Utah and three more in Missouri. The player could choose which date to go hunting and the weather would reflect the season. Days in which deer hunting is not in season are not selectable. Some days are only for bow hunting. The deer migrate depending on the season so a herd found in the summer might be easily located further south in winter. Each area has cottages, farms and hunting lodges scattered throughout where the player can find trucks, ATVs, snowmobiles and boats that can be used to get around the area quickly.

The player has a limited amount of inventory space that they can fill with hunting equipment before the start of their trip. Items include decoys, blinds, hunting licenses, binoculars and other hunting accessories. If the player does not bring a hunting license then they can poach animals. Players that bring the journal can write messages in it that other players in their game can read. The game has six player online support through gamespy. …
