Description

The Test Drive series of racing games traditionally involve driving cars on tarmac. However, a sub-series of games involving hazardous racing on less prepared surfaces was commenced with this title.

Choose from one of four monster trucks (Hummer, Land Rover Defender 90, Jeep Wrangler, and Chevrolet K-1500 Z71), each of which has its own handling as well as realistic damage modeling. Take them through 12 tracks incorporating sand, snow and dirt. In the single-player mode your task is to progress through increasing challenging leagues.

Dark Colony

Description

In a gloomy not-so-distant future, mankind have finally made it to Mars. The colonization of the red planet is vital for humanity’s survival, as the heavily polluted Earth’s resources are nearly depleted. At the same time, the Taar, a mysterious alien race that lost their homeworld many centuries ago, has decided to take Mars as their new home.

As the war between the two species erupts, the player has to choose his side and lead his people to ultimate domination over the red planet. Things become even more complicated when the ruins of an extinct ancient civilization are found on Mars, revealing immensely destructive weapons that could easily turn the tide of the war in favor of the faction that manages to gain control over them first.

Dark Colony is a real-time strategy with heavy emphasis on the actual combat. Daytona USA Deluxe

Description

Deluxe borrows most of its features from the US/PAL Championship Circuit Edition and the Japanese Circuit Edition, both Sega Saturn exclusives. However, it also adds eight-player network support and a brand new exclusive track; Silver Ocean Causeway. The original hornet from the arcade Daytona USA is also unlockable.

From a technical standpoint, Deluxe offers higher resolution gameplay (leading to higher resolution 2D assets such as the HUD) and greater draw distances over its Saturn counterparts. It has since received a Direct3D patch which adds texture filtering and a semi-functional fogging effect which attempts to hide geometry pop-in. The results of this feature are mixed, however, as no races take place in foggy conditions, meaning pop-in is still noticeable (scenery just appears as a light blue). Furthermore, draw distance is not significantly improved with the patch installed. …

Description

Long ago a secret war raged between Heaven and Hell, each using humanity as its pawns. While the Prime Evils of Hell were engaged in war their lesser lieutenants conspired to overthrow them. They mutinied suddenly with the combined forces of Hell, overwhelming the three Primes. Stripped of their power, they were banished to the mortal realm. Carmageddon Max Pack

Description

Carmageddon is a violent car racing game where the racing element can be equally important as wrecking opponents’ cars or gathering kills by ramming into pedestrians. At the beginning the player has only one car and is ranked at #99. The overall objective is to race all the way to the top, collecting the opponents’ cars on the way as trophies (and possibly replacements to one’s vehicle). In the race itself the player tries to damage opponents by driving into them, and can also kill pedestrians.

Damage, kills and spectacular moves earn credits for upgrades and even making repairs to the car at anytime during the race. If a specific opponent’s car is wrecked multiple times in successive races, it is added to the choice of available vehicles. There are many power-ups strewn around the courses that range from useful (more speed, instant brake) to fun and downright absurd. Though the player can win a race by finishing first, wrecking everything in sight is encouraged. The game offers open environments where exploration away from the racing course is encouraged
