Police Quest – SWAT 2

Description

In 1999, the LAPD, led by Chief John De Souza, deploys its SWAT team to handle a series of violent crimes across Los Angeles. Aided by SWAT commander Sergeant Griff Markossian and police negotiator Sergeant Mike Alvarez, De Souza commands SWAT as it handles increasingly complex incidents, ranging from robberies and standoffs, to riots and assassinations, to unpredictable civilians and collaborators escalating seemingly straightforward incidents.

Over the course of their deployments, the LAPD frequently clashes with the Five Eyes, a cult-like transcendentalist left-wing terrorist militia led by the mysterious “Bashō” and his second-in-command “Dante”. SWAT deploys to defeat Five Eyes and prevent them from recruiting more members, while Five Eyes manages to kill numerous officers and print their manifesto as part of their attempts to indoctrinate the public to their cause. After SWAT saves the Mayor of Los Angeles from an assassination attempt, Five Eyes launches a retaliatory assault on the Parker Center, but SWAT manages to repel the attack and protect De Souza. …

Sega Touring Car Championship

Description

After Virtua Racing, Daytona USA and Sega Rally, yet another classic SEGA arcade racer (this time, from the Model 2C CRX architecture) is converted for home users. After open-wheel, stock and rally cars, Sega took on the popular European Touring Car races (factory models modified for racing), featuring four real models (Alfa Romeo 155V6TI, Toyota Supra GT, AMG Mercedes C-Class and Opel Calibra V6) as well as some hidden cars. Some models feature four-wheel drive (easier to control on sharper turns) while other only have rear-wheel drive (forcing the player to calculate turns properly so the car doesn’t skid). Because of this, gameplay is notoriously tighter and less forgiving than in any of the previous titles by Sega.

Like with other Sega arcade ports, this home versions features both an “Arcade” and a “PC”/”Saturn” mode (the biggest difference being the time constraints and inability to use tweaked cars in arcade) with the usual Championship (three races in a row) and Time Attack modes, and a 2P split-screen race is also available. There are three tracks, plus one more as the final race (as usual with contemporary Sega arcade racers), and two viewpoints (behind and front bumper) are at the disposal of the player. As usual, there are additional modes, tracks and cars to be unlocked for those proficient in the game. …

TOCA 2 Touring Cars

You can race the full championship or take on single races or time trial challenges. At this time the series required all cars to make at least one pit stop during the race. This seriously affects your driving and pitting strategy.

Besides the TOCA races, each of the venues also features special racing events where all drivers race identical cars. These range from the Ford Fiesta to exotics like the AC Blower and the Lister Storm, and higher, in a format similar to American IROC races. 8 bonus track layouts are also included. …
