Prince of Persia 2 is, like its predecessor, a cinematic platformer. Much of the gameplay is reminiscent of the first game, focusing on precise jumping puzzles, swordfighting, and overcoming many hazards in order to stay alive. Swordfighting is more prominent and features situations where several enemies attack the Prince at once. Reinforcements may arrive after the Prince has eliminated all visible enemies. Like its predecessor, the game must be completed within a time limit. …

Pink Panther – Pinkadelic Pursuit

Description

One Christmas day, Pink Panther is heading toward the mansion of his late uncle. It is said that there is a treasure hidden somewhere in the mansion. As the inheritor of the mansion, Pink set out to find the treasure as soon as he steps into the mansion. He soon finds out that the treasure is locked inside a safe; the keys of which can be obtained by exploring the “rooms” (probably the places/enemies that Uncle Pink previously explored/defeated) in the mansion. Now it up to Pink Panther to retrieve all the keys to the treasure!

The main objective of all the levels in the game (except the final level) is to collect the key hidden in each level and get to the goal to proceed to the next level. There are a total of 12 “rooms” (levels) within 3 game modes: platform, race and boss fight. Most levels are in platform mode. In platform mode, the key is guarded by a certain character in a certain place. The way to that place is not straightforward: there are plenty more characters blocking the ways each time players proceed. The only way to proceed is to do the suitable exchanges with these characters (what they need will be displayed in the thought bubbles when players come near them). Very often the object a character needs is also the one another has, so stealing and chasing are essential parts of this mode. Hiding spots are provided for players for convenience during chase sequences. …

Heart of Darkness is a cinematic 2D platformer designed by Eric Chahi, the creator of one of the genre’s progenitors, Another World. Though the game has many fast and furious action sequences, including shooting hordes of dark creatures, it is built like a series of tasks, each requiring different approaches, from arcade-style shooting or jumping to interacting with the environment and solving puzzles. Like its spiritual predecessor, the game is linear; completing a section usually takes Andy to a different location, where another task awaits him. …

The storyline differs slightly depending on whether the player chooses X or Zero. Mega Man X4 takes place in an ambiguous year in the 22nd century (21XX), where humans coexist with intelligent androids called “Reploids”. Following the third defeat of Sigma, a second Maverick Hunting group has arisen. Either X or Zero is dispatched to investigate possible causes of the disaster, only to become entangled in a struggle to save the world. At the crash site, X and Zero encounter Colonel, and attempt to bring him back to Maverick Hunter HQ for investigation. Colonel denies Repliforce’s involvement in the Sky Lagoon destruction, and refuses to disarm out of pride. Zero also rescues Iris, Colonel’s kind-hearted sister, who was caught in the mayhem but is unharmed, and sends her to headquarters. The Repliforce thus begins a movement to claim independence from the human government and create a nation for Reploids only. …
