Road Rash

Description

This is a remake of the original Road Rash from the early nineties. For those who have not played the original, you are competing against thirteen other “Road Rashers” who will stop at nothing to win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. During the race, you have two options available to you: you can either do your best to cross the finish line, or use your weapon to bring the Rashers to the ground if they are giving you trouble. If you do the latter, your opponents will do the same to you during the next race that takes place.

There are five circuits to race: The City, The Peninsula, Pacific Highway, Sierra Nevada, and Napa Valley. Some of these circuits are dangerous. As well as the obstacles and traffic that you encounter along the way, there are also cops driving on bikes who will arrest you if you happen to crash or stop your bike near them, and you have to pay a fine in order to get in any more races. Your bike will be wrecked if you crash too many times, and you have to pay for damages, but the amount you have to pay depends on the bike that you are riding. Once you have completed the first five circuits, you have to race them again another four times – but at a much more difficult level. Manage to win all five circuits on all levels, and you win the Road Rash cup. …

Road Wars

Description

Road Wars is a futuristic racing game produced by InterActive Vision studio. Players race in armored and well-armed cars on 12 themed routes.
This is a cutting-edge vehicular combat racing game set in the not-so-distant future. The game thrusts you into the role of a Road Warrior. While racing for fame and fortune, you compete over 12 different Road War Association (RWA) sanctioned racetracks. Winning races results in increased notoriety and funds with which to upgrade and customize your vehicle. Various weapons and armor may be purchased, as well as better wheels, engines and a wide range of special add-ons.

Road Wars is different from other games of this genre due to a number of reasons: in this game, you choose to play one of twelve characters. Each character drives his or her own unique car. Not only do the cars have different characteristics, but the characters do as well. Certain characters will receive special treatment in the game. One such character is a mechanic who receives discounts when repairing and buying items in the garage. Others hold grudges and will be out to get you if you mess with them during a race. This also enables the game AI to give the characters strong personalities with which to put some original aspects into the game. …

Radio Control Racers Deluxe – Traxxas Edition

Description

Fans of the original 3-D Ultra Radio Control Racers, developed by Dynamix, get a second fix with this enhanced and expanded version from Sierra. 3-D Ultra Radio Control Racers Deluxe: Traxxas Edition takes the game to new levels by adding tracks, game modes, customization options and advanced features.

You can choose from four car models, each with individual characteristics, attributes, strengths and weaknesses. The 4-wheel drive Monster Truck has twin engines, and a low center of gravity due to its weight and sturdy construction. Much faster is the Baja Bug, which sacrifices corner handling for speed, and the Buggy with its quick handling and smaller tires. Slightly slower, but featuring good stability and fast recovery, is the Stadium Truck.

Customization of all four vehicles is possible with the Custom Paint Area, a feature containing two methods for converting your cars into dream machines. The first method provides four templates (blobs, flames, stripes, and chex) with 14 colors used in different combinations. The other option, albeit more complex, provides more depth and customization choices for detailing your car. After importing a pre-made bitmap template or creating your own, you can use any paint program to add colors and logos, and then save and import the file for use in the program. …

Resident Evil 4 (2007)

Description

Picking up six years after Resident Evil 2, the fourth game in the series follows former cop (now US agent) Leon S. Kennedy to Europe on a top secret mission to investigate the disappearance of the president’s daughter Ashley. As Leon encounters unimaginable horrors, he must find out who or what is behind everything. Old friends…and enemies…lurk around every corner as Leon attempts to find out who is truly behind the kidnapping of the president’s daughter.

Resident Evil 4 is a major change from the previous installments. Instead of a fixed third person perspective, the game features a new “behind the back” movement camera angle and an “over the shoulder” aiming feature that allows players to control their gun movement for specific body part hits. It features a brand new AI system and more open environments that allow enemies to work together to capture and corner Leon. Enemies are now humans, which allows them to climb up ladders, open doors, and use weapons throughout the game.

The entire item system has also been revamped, so that smaller items no longer require an entire item space to hold. Instead, items take up blocks of space in a briefcase according to their real life size, to allow for many more items and weapons. Leon can collect treasure from enemies or from the surrounding area, and visit the infamous “merchant” to purchase bigger briefcases, treasure maps, weapons upgrades, and powerful weapons such as the one-shot RPG. …

Requiem – Avenging Angel

Description

The Fallen were a group of angels who mistakenly believed that God was upset with Earth’s corruption and wanted it destroyed. They have been bidding their time in the realm of Chaos, waiting for their moment to strike out at human kind.

Finally, that time has come, and the Fallen have taken control of the minds of Earth’s leaders and police force, using them to set up a one world government, oppressing the populace into submission. On top of that, the Fallen are experimenting with Earth’s first interstellar starship, the Leviathan, which was originally created to explore past the Solar system. The new leaders of Earth seem to have other plans for the vessel, which they are re-designing towards some unknown purpose. Eventually, an angel named Malachi is sent to Earth to stop the sinister schemes of the Fallen and their human followers, and save mankind.

Requiem: Avenging Angel is a first-person shooter in which the player controls Malachi, exploring predominantly urban environments and fighting human, robotic, and demonic enemies. Some areas in the city New Damascus, where most of the action takes place, form a seamless location rather than being broken into levels. Most of the stages are populated by enemies, though a few locations contain friendly characters, such as members of a rebel organization who send Malachi on missions. …
